# Spotify

> Control Spotify from TikTok or Twitch chat and display the current track and queue.

<Info>
  This is a **premium feature**. [Upgrade your plan](/getting-started/billing) to access it.
</Info>

Spotify live tools let eligible viewers control music from TikTok or Twitch chat. BrewBot premium and server admin access are required for these settings. Playback also requires a connected **Spotify Premium** account.

## Connect and enable commands

1. Connect Spotify in **Configuration > Integrations**.
2. Open **Live Tools > Spotify**.
3. Choose the **TikTok** or **Twitch** platform settings.
4. For TikTok, select the shared live source used by TTS. For Twitch, connect the broadcaster through Integrations.
5. Turn on **Enable commands**, choose viewer access, and enable the commands you want.

Each platform has its own command settings. Viewer access can be **Broadcaster only**, **Whitelist only**, **Mods and whitelist**, or **Everyone**. Add specific usernames to the whitelist or blocked list. TikTok also has **Allow MVP Profiles** for profiles on the MVP dock; blocked usernames remain blocked.

## Commands

The **Command prefix** determines the text viewers type. With `!` as the configured prefix, the command set is:

| Command | Action |
| - | - |
| `!play`, `!pause` | Resume or pause playback |
| `!skip` | Skip the current track |
| `!request song artist` | Request a track |
| `!song` | Request current-song information |
| `!up`, `!down` | Adjust playback volume |
| `!clear` | Clear the request queue |

Each command group has its own switch. The **Queue** tab shows the current track and upcoming songs; use **Refresh** to update it. If playback cannot start, open Spotify and make sure the connected account has an active playback device.

## Overlays

Enable and copy the **Now playing overlay** link, or use the **Queue overlay** for upcoming songs. **Live Tools > Overlays** also offers a **Spotify Scan Code** source for the currently playing track. These display sources do not replace your Spotify audio capture.

If you regenerate the overlay link, update the affected OBS sources. For general setup, see [Stream overlays](/features/overlays).
